one of the driveshafts Stu managed to break on Drivetrain, before 10am twisted splines in the other shaft the Blazer coming down the hill into the OCC trail Matt's Rover at the bottom of Pete's Demise, right before he joined our group. this truck was the favorite of everyone at the park DasBeef XJ coming up Pete's Demise. I took this one to show off the sheetmetal teeth not sure if this is actually considered part of PUSI hill, or if it is just a trail that runs next to it the CJ on the start of Vortex XJ on Vortex CJ5 on Rocky Ravine Rover on Rankle Rock Blazer on Rankle Rock high centered peeling back the transmission crossmember just a poser shot in front of Rankle Rock Shane's S-10-ish thing, after ripping the steering box off the frame Blazer on a tight section of the creek bed, where Rocky Ravine meets Boulder Byway CJ5 on Boulder Byway Stu stuck on the beginning of Hard Rock Highway another one of Stu being stuck and another one of Stu being stuck tried to get a nice shot of the rock he climbed. don't think the pic does justice to the size of the rock got a little sideways, to try and do something artsy Stu's lost coil spring blown hub on the CJ5 from BOulder Byway better shot of Shane's carnage

This was the first open wheeling weekend, since Crozet went members only. Seems that people missed the place, because they got a huge turnout.

Was a tough time for me getting down there on Friday. Was woken up early with the news of the death of the mother of some close friends of me and my wife. Then lost the bearings for one of the hubs on my trailer, and ended up having to swap things out in a McDonalds parking lot on rt. 29. Plans were to have an easy drive the rest of the way, but with the loss of my trailer brakes due to the swapped hub, ended up being slow and stressfull. Didn't make it to crozet until a little after dark.

Before I get too far, I owe a huge thanks to John (Nosigma) for his help with my trailer. Seems that he was only a few cars behind me, and stopped to help. Seems that he knew a whole lot more about these things than I did, so his help made a big difference, and got me on the road much faster and safer than if I had done it myself.

Led a high blue group around on Saturday. Covered most of the park, with no more than some minor issues (my only carnage was a broken rear swaybar endlink), and had a great time. Ended up being a great bunch of guys, who were willing to push the limits of their vehicles. Had a great time with them, and hope we can wheel again soon.

Seems a simple thing, but I loved finally having a map of the property. While I knew the park fairly well, this was the first time that I knew the names of all the trails I was on. Also managed to discover a trail that I had always assumed was much harder than it was, but was able to see from the trail rating on the map that it was just what we were looking for.

Had to leave early on Sunday, to attend the viewing. Would have been a beautiful day to wheel, as the weather was perfect, but sometimes more important things need to take priority.

RIP Nellie Childress. May God bless you.
