This was the first members only run at Crozet since the formation of the "Rock Crawlers for the Preservation of Future Access."

I only knew a small percentage of the people there, but immediately felt like I was part of whatever clique they were in. This membership thing is awesome, as it whittled down the people to those of use that "get it." Not hard to get along with people when we all share the same passion. Just a freakin' awesome idea.

I just was not happy with the TJ this weekend, and I think this was the final straw for running anything more than fire roads with it. She's overbuilt for the street, and because of that is totally undriveable at anything more than 25mph. However, she's way underbuilt for the level of trails I am running, and would just self destruct at the things I want to challenge myself with. So, I pretty much just fucked up a perfectly good, low mileage Jeep that is now good for nothing. Since getting back from the ride, I have found the motivation to get working on making this one more street friendly and have jumped back into working on the CJ.

I did run in the comp, and had a very dissapointing finish. Now, normally I find that I have some room to get cocky with my level of driving skill. However, I have been needing to get "put in my place" for a while now, and this was just the thing to do it. I had a blast doing it, but just didn't take it as seriously as I should have. I'll be back to try it again, and put some of the lessons learned to use.

Finding it really hard to put my finger on things about this weekend and say "this is what made it great." In all honesty, all the examples I can think of are bad things that happened. Yet, it was still just an awesome weekend. That should be a testimony as to how well things are going to turn out with the new format.

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend.
